Talisman Donation

A local energy company will try to help the Edson and District Community Care Foundation bring a cataract unit to the region.

Talisman Energy will make a $5000 donation to the foundation on Monday.

The foundation's executive Secretary, Don McCulloch believes Alberta Health Services will approve the initiative thanks to adequate fundraising by the community.

He says the foundation has raised $150,000 of the $250-300,000 that's needed.

He adds the cataract unit will need surgeons from the province, and hopes the unit will be up and running this year.
